I wear many hats but my primary and most favorite one is as a Mama. I've been blessed with two beautiful, healthy and kind sons who are both determined to leave their imprint on earth. I accepted this huge role of guiding them through life with love and light. What most of you do not know is the village that roams beside me; my husband, my parents and my friends. One of my tightest group of Mama friends is a group called "Rockin' Moms" and they are just that; Moms to children rockin' an extra chromosome; whether by birth or adoption. We encourage each other with HOPE, we educate each other with our EXPERIENCES, we fall to our knees together in GRIEF, and we CELEBRATE our wins bigger and better each time.
The organization that brings us Moms together is called "Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network." It began as an online FB group that quickly evolved into a global support of incredible women - like a sisterhood. Our bond is our children and our goal is their well-being.
-This group wraps our arms around pregnant women who have just learned their child may have Down syndrome.
-This group sends congratulations and welcome baskets to new Mamas.
-This group shares IEP strategies and local resources to help better the lives for our children.
-This group works to educate the medical professionals who care for our kiddos.
-This group also, unfortunately, sends memorial tokens to those in our groups who have lost a child - and there have been far too many.
-This group provides scholarships to Mamas who are underprivileged but still need support, respite and acceptance.
-This group strives for inclusion and celebration, not just acceptance.

Your support will reach families all over the world; those struggling with the initial diagnosis, those who are overwhelmed with the medical complications, those who are in an isolated community, those who are raising rockin' kiddos on their own and those who are just like me; on this incredible journey of Down syndrome.

As of 2017, DSDN has a board of 8, more than 100 volunteers, over 20 birth club groups, 25+ subgroups and have reached to over 4000 members worldwide!
