Adlie had been great at surprises since day 1. We knew we wanted more than 1 child but didn't expect to add to our family so quickly. She surprised us with an extra chromosome at birth, then surprised us with the strength through her open heart surgery and continues to surprise us daily with the determination and perseverance I never knew was capable for a 1 year old!

Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network has been the biggest support for our family in coping with our new normal

I am fundraising to support real change! Let's support good in the world and make a difference. Help us support DSDN and their mission to provide information, connections and support to new and expectant parents of children with Down syndrome, like us.

Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network (DSDN).

DSDN mission is to connect, inform and support new families at the time of diagnosis and to impact the diagnosis conversation so that every family receives accurate, up to date information along with the diagnosis.

DSDN offers families:

• Private, moderated Birth club groups for families from Pregnancy through age 3
• Topical Subgroups for families to more deeply connect around content that matters most to them (cancer diagnosis, IEPs, single parenting, loss, Spanish speaking, etc)
• Materials to provide to medical professional, local organizations and new families http://www.dsdiagnosisnetwork.org/local-support
• Rockin' Family Fund programming to support families with:
  • Welcome gifts
  • Care gift cards
  • Memorial gifts
  • Scholarships for Ds related events
• Our annual DSDN Rockin' Mom Retreat to connect, inspire and recharge moms within our network

As of 2017, DSDN has a board of 8, more than 100 volunteers, over 20 birth club groups, 25+ subgroups and have reached to over 4000 members worldwide!

Donation ideas:

$10 = provides a welcome gift to a family after having a baby with Down syndrome.

$14.46 = $.03 for each of Adlies 481 days of life! (wanna give more? multiply it by the number of people in your family!)

$21= Down syndrome occurs when there is a 3rd copy of the 21st chromosome

$25 = Provides a care package to a family having an extended stay in the hospital (like our open heart surgery)

$50 = Sponsors part of a conference scholarship for a family to attend

$100 = this will provide a memorial wind chime to a family whose Rockstar has passed away (a meaningful way to pay it forward in honor of a loved one you have lost)
