HAPPENING NOW: ROCK YOUR SOCKS FOR WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY 3/21!

We like to set the bar high, and this year is one for the books! We are hoping to sponsor every student, teacher, and our special education department in all 3 girls' classrooms (plus ALL of Kindergarten) with mismatched socks to help educate everyone about Down Syndrome in a fun & memorable way! And, If we reach that goal, I'd love to sponsor even more students & staff at our school!

GOAL #1: 120 KIDS / 33 ADULTS

OUR MISSION:

  • $8 will cover the cost of socks for a child + remainder goes directly to DSDN
  • $10 will cover the cost of socks for an adult + remainder goes directly to DSDN

WHY MISMATCHED OR STRIPED SOCKS?

We wear mismatched socks on World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) because chromosomes are shaped like little socks and people with Down syndrome have one extra chromosome (3 copies of chromosome 21).

The mismatched socks remind us that different is beautiful, and that being unique is something to celebrate, not hide. It’s a fun, simple way to show inclusion, awareness, and acceptance 💛 💙
