DSDN means the world to my family and me. When we were diagnosed prenatally with Miles having Down Syndrome, I felt like our lives were over. I was so uneducated on this topic of having a baby with Down Syndrome and felt super isolated because none of my family or friends had been through this before. DSDN supported me every step of the way. They connected me with families who have grown to be my actual family. They are my tribe and I don't know how I've gotten so lucky as to be connected with them on this journey. They sent me a pregnancy gift and a welcome gift when Miles was born, wrapping me in that love and support in a time of great need. They are one of the most supportive, if not THE most supportive, organizations and their mission means everything to my family and our tribe. I always connect new moms that find out they have a baby on the way or one newly born with Down Syndrome to the DSDN support groups because there is truly nothing like them. I was able to attend for my first year in DC in 2022 and I can’t tell you what that trip did to my soul. It was incredible to connect with these women face to face and the education and support they give us there is unmatched. There is no way we would have to been able to afford that trip without the fundraising prizes offsetting the price. I can’t thank you all enough that helped me earn that experience.
